The new site is part of McDonald's new project to change its restaurant
I’ll admit that I was sceptical before visiting the new site, located in the Junction One retail park in Bidston Moss, Wallasey, right by the huge M53 interchange. This was because the restaurant is part of the company's “Convenience of the Future" project.
The mirrors on the ceiling really threw me, as I have never seen this in a McDonald's before and kept catching other diners in the reflection. The food though was mostly standard McDonald’s. I spotted this on the way in, but the difference it made to the restaurant began to dawn on me. I feel McDonalds' restaurants have become more hectic in recent years due to loads of delivery drivers coming in and taking orders alongside other customers sitting in.
Granted, I did visit on a wet Friday afternoon - I may have felt differently if I came at a busier time. But I feel it’s a more sensible way to operate, and makes this McDoanld’s unique compared to its other sites.
