The singer visited during the Eurovision celebrations
Liverpool’s Eurovision celebrations brought many positives to the city- and Sophie Ellis-Bextor paying a visit was definitely one of them.
Lucky In The Sky was placed in TripAdvisor's top 10% of restaurants worldwide last year, so it’s no wonder that Sophie was aware of its stellar reputation. Given my appreciation for the music of Sophie and The Beatles, this venue seemed like the perfect place to try out. In an Instagram post with Sophie, the shop's owners said they were “absolutely star struck” after the singer said she had provided the best coffee in Liverpool.
There’s a great selection of breakfast and brunch options on the menu. I opted for Lucy’s Club Sandwich. This is a twist on the normal chicken club sandwich, with egg and in-house mayo added alongside a side of crisps and coleslaw. I’ve never been an admirer of coffee’s taste, but the espresso did energise me and was served with a tasty chocolate bourbon biscuit. The Scouse Shake definitely pleased me more though. Having a popular drink out of a well known Liverpool feature gave it a delicious blend of novelty and familiarity.
