Long-standing Channel Seven weather presenter Liz Cantor has announced she will ditch her role at the embattled broadcaster for one at rival company Network 10.

'I was a seven, now I'm a 10': Veteran Channel Seven weather presenter Liz Cantor jumps ship to Network 10

It marks an abrupt end to her 16-year career as presenter on Seven Queensland's live Gold Lotto draw. Cantor will join 10 alongside her former colleague and the network’s newly appointed Queensland news anchor, Sharyn Ghidella. “I’m remaining on both networks…Times are changing, and I believe in working together rather than against each other.

“It wasn’t quite how I expected it to end at Channel 7. I was actually sitting at the hairdressers for work, when I got the call informing me, that after 17 years with the network, my time was up,” Ghidella said.
