'I was addicted to lip fillers - I dribbled & struggled to drink but didn't stop, trolls said I looked like a Teletubby'
noted: “The prolific use of social media apps like TikTok and Instagram are influencing patients’ decisions to seek cosmetic treatment. This is happening across the board, but particularly amongst young women.”She added: “When I got my lips done my mum would say ‘you need to stop, you don’t look like you anymore’. My Nana would say ‘Cleo, what have you done?’.
Cleo was lucky that her practitioner warned her of the dangers, but she decided to go ahead with the filler and as she was warned, they migrated. But then, after five years of filler, Cleo came to a point where enough was enough and it was time to get them dissolved. Cleo posted the eye-popping video to TikTok and was unaware of the torrent of abuse she would receive.Cleo had an allergic reaction after getting her fillers dissolved and was tormented by trolls on TikTokShe continued: “I've had comments saying I look like a monkey, like the Tweenies and Teletubbies. I just try and shake it off, but I decided to not look at the comments anymore.”
She explained: “When I was younger I was bullied. I remember walking to the canteen and as I walked past a boy he said a racial slur to me. I was in year six. I was 12 years-old. “I actually felt like I had an addiction to dyeing my hair. I remember going to Poundland to find something to dye my hair. And the extensions… Everyone had long hair, so I got extensions. My hair was ripping out from the extensions. Then I got a weave but I started to get bald patches, it destroyed my hair.”Credit: Supplied
