Andrew Potts thought this general ill health had been due to working late shifts

When Andrew Potts got a letter inviting him to have his lungs checked, he didn't think much of it. But as the clinic was right next to his local Asda, he tied in a visit whilst getting his tea.

He had been invited to the Targeted Lung Health Check mobile unit outside his local Asda store. From the outside, it looks like a normal van parked outside a supermarket. "It looks like a normal lorry but inside there are so many rooms and scanning machines. It's like a TARDIS. You expect Doctor Who to walk out.

"The recovery time doesn’t matter to me, I’m just so grateful," He said. "I’ve had fantastic treatment and I’ve cleared the first hurdle." "It’s so important that we pick up cancer at an early stage," said Emma Loftus, a CURE Specialist Nurse. Each patient when entering the unit is seen by the nurse team where they are asked about smoking history and other risk factors.

Finally, the patient will be led to the CT scanner, depending on the outcome of their LHC risk assessment. The one-stop design is highly effective for making the whole visit as quick as possible.
