Victorian Deputy Premier Jacinta Allan has formally announced plans to put herself forward to replace Daniel Andrews as the state’s next Premier.
Mr Andrews announced on Tuesday he was resigning the top job after almost nine years and three consecutive election victories in 2014, 2018 and 2022Ms Allan, 50, has served as deputy premier since June 2022 when she replaced outgoing deputy James Merlino and is also the state’s minister for transport and infrastructure.
