With green-and-gold hair, an eagle’s feather in his hat and an exuberant personality, Taymon Kenton-Smith stole the show at archery’s historic Paralympics venue.

As he made his way up the ladder of the recurve open competition at the Paralympics on Wednesday , Kenton-Smith managed to knock out the world ranked number one in his category, Mexico’s Samuel Molina.

The larger-than-life archer brought a taste of Aussie larrikinism to the historic Parisian venue, the Esplanade des Invalides. Eager to pump up the audience between rounds and rocking out to the venue’s music between his own shots, he quickly became a crowd favourite.Paralympics Australia “I’m a little bit upset. I really wanted to come home with a medal. I was determined. I was ready,” he said. “But I hope that I was gracious in defeat, and I hope that I was magnanimous in victory.”“I came here to win and I won the crowd, so that’s definitely something. I will never be forgotten, I’m pretty sure about that.”Archery is a particularly tricky beast.
