United States Vice President Kamala Harris has declared she 'will not be silent' on Gaza and urged for a ceasefire deal to end the conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking about the discussion in a press conference minutes later, Harris revealed to reporters she told Mr Netanyahu she"will always ensure Israel is able to defend itself" from Iran and Iranian-backed militants such as Hamas and Hezbollah. "Let’s get the deal done so that we can get a ceasefire to end the war. Let’s bring the hostages home and let’s provide much needed relief to the Palestinian people."Harris stressed she was committed to a two-state solution as she believed that was"the only path" for the security of Israelis and freedom of Palestinians.
According to Axios, citing three sources, Netanyahu denied he was slow-walking discussions and said Israel would send an updated proposal to Hamas in coming days.Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, the parents of hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin - said the Israeli PM and US President expressed urgency to rescue their loved ones.
