A stalwart of Australian shopping centres is set to bid goodbye to its remaining bricks-and-mortar stores this year.
Sanity’s owner Ray Itaoui said the business would shift its focus to online trading after the digital revolution forced the company’s hand.
"Our online business - sanity.com.au - will continue to operate, and will service the many loyal customers the brand has continued to be dedicated to over the decades." But the advent of digital music was not kind to the retailer, which saw its stores rapidly dwindled as consumers turned to online channels like Spotify and iTunes to get their tunes.
