Grab your chocolate popcorn, a historic Seattle movie theater is set to reopen.

The theater said it will feature a mix of blockbuster studio films and specialty festivals and events, including first-run arthouse cinema. It’s one of only two operating cinemas worldwide capable of screening three-strip Cinerama films on its 97-foot curved screen consisting of 2,000 vertical strips, the theater wrote online.SIFF said the theater's concessions include local craft beer and the chocolate popcorn "you know and love." Reserved seating is available.
The historic theater, which opened in 1963, has been closed to the public since 2020. The former owner, Paul Allen, passed away in 2018. The theater had to be renamed due to trademark licensing.for a grant of about $1 million to SIFF to get movies playing again before the end of the year.
