NRL: Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson has been left fuming after a Storm try was allowed to stand despite there being clear interference.

‘If I’m Mitch Moses , then he’s gone for 10’: Roosters duo escape bans after Storm star’s pleaThe Roosters have dodged a double blow with skipper James Tedesco and veteran enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves avoiding bans for incidents out ofTedesco has been offered a $750 fine after he was hit with a grade 1 dangerous contact charge for sticking his leg out and tripping Ryan Papenhuyzen in the 70th minute.

The Storm fullback immediately gestured to referee Ashley Klein that Tedesco should have been sent to the sin bin, with the incident penalised and placed on report. Waerea-Hargreaves is also free to face the Dragons in next week’s Anzac Day clash after he received a grade 1 dangerous contact charge for a very late shot on Christian Welch. The firebrand has been offered an $1800 fine if he takes the early guilty plea, with calls on Thursday for him to be sent to the sin bin for a late challenge on Welch who had already passed the ball.

“I said to Ash ‘if I’m Mitch Moses then he’s gone for 10’,” Welch said after the game, with many people agreeing that rules are slightly different for hits on forwards and playmakers. “I think sometimes if it’s a big bloke doing the ball playing and he gets whacked late then it doesn’t matter and it’s a penalty, but we seem to be very conditioned to look after the little guys.“I love the way that Jared goes about his business. Him and Jesse Bromwich are generational front-rowers who are the icons who have set the trend.
