It’s not uncommon for TransPennine Express, which connects cities in the North of the country and Scotland, to be cancelling up to 60 services in advance every day. And this doesn’t include those that areMany people, especially those who need to be in work every morning at a certain time, are simply deciding that taking the train is not worth the gamble.
But it’s not just commuters and services being hit. The chaos on our railways is deterring tourists from visiting Manchester and other parts of the North because they worry about how they’re getting here and returning home. During this crucial winter trading period, local businesses are paying the price for the rail shambles.
