Apple iPhone users across the world are reporting a major problem with iMessage on Friday morning. More than eight million Australians are iPhone users. iPhone users are reporting messages are taking longer to send than usual, or not sending at all. More than 500 Aussies have reported the problem after 7am, according to Down Detector. On Friday, Sunrise consumer correspondent Shaun White explained the outage. “It looks like a delay ,” White said.
“The iMessage service that Apple users to send messages to one another appears to be down for some users, and messages are failing to go out or are taking an extra long time to send,” the user wrote. There are numerous reports about the issue on social networks and a spike of outage reports on Down Detector, but Apple’s System Status page is not yet reporting an outage, at the time of writing. A number of users around the world acknowledged the outage in the comments.
