Father Mattia Bernasconi apologises for any offence after failing to find shade while on camp in Italy with high school students

However, having failed to find shade from the searing heat, Bernasconi said a nearby family offered the use of the inflatable mattress and the priest took to the water, conducting the service with everyone – himself included – in swimsuits. In an interview with the Italian national newspaper la Repubblica, Giuseppe Capoccia, the chief prosecutor of the city of Crotone, said the priest was being investigated for “offence to a religious confession”.
