On a sunny afternoon in Malibu, Vogue100 and Moll Anderson hosted a luncheon dedicated to beauty and balance.’s Elise Taylor led an open conversation between Anderson, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, and Helene Henderson. This exclusive lineup of female leaders across the design, lifestyle, and wellness industries offered the crowd incredible insights that were both deeply personal and universal.
Anderson, a leading interior designer and bestselling author, spoke on the power of curating one’s surroundings to maximize happiness. She cited color theory, her area of expertise, as foundational to an individual’s mental well-being. “Don’t be afraid of color,” Anderson exclaimed. “Start small: paint a wall. See how just that change can shift the energy in your home and the energy in your life.”
Of course, there could be no better example of color’s transformational power than Casa di Bella Vista, Anderson’s home and the event’s venue. The garden exploded with hues of lavender juxtaposed against a clean palette of black and white. Inside, bright art and whimsical patterns delighted the eye. A view of the Pacific Ocean left attendees breathless. The setting, at once grand and relaxed, offered the perfect place for an intimate and inspirational conversation.
With her extensive work in both medicine and journalism, Dr. Ashton spoke to physical balance. She has long served as a health expert who skillfully translates medical information to a mass audience. “We all took high school chemistry,” Dr. Ashton said. “If you think about all those equations, the arrows went in both directions. That’s equilibrium. If you push in one direction, it will come back to you at one point. I view everything we do on a daily basis in terms of balance.
