“It is fantastic to see Glasgow Green transformed into such an exciting venue.'

Both the BMX Freestyle Flatland and the BMX Trials are non-ticketed events and are free to attend.

Bailie Annette Christie, Chair of Glasgow Life, said: “It is fantastic to see Glasgow Green transformed into such an exciting venue for the BMX competitions which get underway tomorrow along with the Road Races as part of a huge weekend of sporting action in the city. “The GO LIVE! programme of free cultural and community participation events at the official fan zone in George Square and across the city, including a Community Day at Tollcrosss International Swimming Centre, will ensure there are ways for everyone, whether sports fans or not, to get involved, soak up the atmosphere and have some fun, whilst connecting with this world-class event.

“While an event of this scale - bringing a significant economic boost - will inevitably have some impact on daily life for a short time, there is lots of information available and we urge people to plan ahead.”
