Good morning and welcome to Wide World of Sports' coverage of the opening day of the first Ashes Test between Australia and England in Brisbane.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane is expecting a top temperature of 30 degrees today, with showers and the chance of a storm. There's an 80 per cent chance of rain at some stage, with 5-20mm forecast during the day. "You haven't had the lead-in games that used to be the case many years ago where a touring side would play a couple of Shield teams that had Test players in it, and you had a really good workout. Now it's been nets, if you're lucky enough to get outdoors.All eyes will be on Cummins and his English counterpart, Joe Root, at the toss, with suggestions the successful captain could decide to bowl first.
