It is a gold rush for Australia on the seventh day of the Paris Games, with Cameron McEvoy, Kaylee McKeown and BMX star Saya Sakakibara all victorious.
Australia has shot up the medal tally with two stunning history-making swims from Kaylee McKeown and Cameron McEvoy, while BMX star Saya Sakakibara blitzed the field in emotional scenes.
However, McEvoy in the last 25 metres powered past to touch the wall first and win gold in 21.25, followed by Great Britain's Ben Proud and Frenchman Florent Manaudou.Speaking to Channel 9 after the race, McEvoy described it was"literally pure joy" to win and that each stroke in the water during that one lap was"bliss"."I had a little moment, fingers crossed, so when I turned around and saw I was first I was pleased about that, it was very hard to contain myself.
