The fact that Wentz is not on a team marks a remarkable fall from stardom for the player who the Eagles took with the second-overall pick in the 2016 draft. He was traded by Philadelphia to the Indianapolis Colts prior to the 2021 season. Wentz posted solid numbers for Indianapolis, passing for 3,563 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions, but he faltered at times down the stretch. That prompted the Colts to ship him to Washington in exchange for second and seventh-round picks prior to last season.
