His barrister revealed shortly into this morning's court hearing that charges would not be proceedingThe 25-year-old was set to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court today to fight the charge. But just minutes into the contested hearing, his barrister revealed the case was no longer going ahead.Details of the alleged incident, which court documents claimed to have happened in 2015, are still unclear.Lawyers for Mr De Goey's co-accused, Jake Edginton, were also awarded $6,300 in costs."In respect of both matters, charges have been struck out," the magistrate said.
Last year Collingwood said the matter had been investigated by the AFL Integrity Unit and Victoria Police in 2018, and no charges were laid at that time.
