A 58-year-old woman has died from coronavirus, however the cause of her infection remains unknown. 9News

The Victorian Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos has announced that while new COVID-19 cases in Victoria has risen, there is a silver lining.This includes nine Victorians who are now in mandatory quarantine after returning from overseas travel, seven of which had returned from the Greg Mortimer cruise ship.

The state has not experienced any additional deaths, and Ms Mikakos praised health practitioners across Victoria for the influx in COVID-19 tests being taken, with that number now reaching 79,000."I have not declared this mission accomplished. We have to remain vigilant and not remain complacent. "I want to encourage members of the community experiencing fever, chills, breathing problems or a cough to please get tested at your local GP or one of the 40 screening locations across Victoria."
