Inflation has fallen less than expected, as a fall in energy prices is been offset by food and drink inflation hitting its highest level in 45 years
Inflation has remained above 10 per cent despite a slight dip as food and drink prices stay high, according to the Office for National Statistics .
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has said we are on track to continue driving down inflation to “ease pressure on families and businesses”. ONS chief economist Grant Fitzner said: “Inflation eased slightly in March, but remains at a high level.
