Despite securing precious fuel this week, Patti’s household has been running their generator sparingly to keep the fridge cold for her husband’s insulin medication. The army has arrived to help construct a temporary crossing at Ollera Creek Bridge which was destroyed by floodwaters, cutting off major arterial link, the Bruce Highway.
The sodden community needed some good news after being one of the worst hit by flooding, with two fatalities.
