The injuries are piling up for San Francisco.
The 49ers entered Sunday’s game in Atlanta without a number of key contributors, and they lost at least two more in the first half.
Coming out of the locker room following halftime, cornerback Charvarius Ward was ruled out for the game with a groin injury, as was right tackle Mike McGlinchey with a calf injury. Both players appeared to be injured in the game’s second quarter, during which the 49ers climbed out of a 14-0 deficit to tie the game before Atlanta retook the lead just ahead of halftime.
Veteran offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill replaced McGlinchey on the field, and rookie Samuel Womack stepped in for Ward, giving up a touchdown to Kyle Pitts on the Falcons’ first drive of the second half.
