LORAIN, Ohio — An inmate in the Lorain County Jail was stabbed multiple times by another prisoner who used a pair of sharpened pliers he stole from a maintenance worker, according to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.

Ortiz already was being held in the jail on a $200,000 bond on a charge of aggravated robbery, Lorain County Common Pleas Court records show. He’s also facing several weapons charges and charges related to fleeing from police, records show.
