The 1920s-era fishing lodge has welcomed Hollywood royalty, Rogue River anglers and travelers for the last century. Here’s what it’s like inside.
Built in 1924 just a stone’s throw from the Rogue River, this historic Grant’s Pass lodge quickly became a rustic retreat for Hollywood celebs and regular joes alike. A 1998 renovation updated the grand log cabin and added river-view cottages, but retained the Weasku Inn’s charmingly retro feel, right down to the vintage neon sign that welcomes you with a “We ask u inn.”
Travel+Leisure touted the inn as one of the top 25 lodges in the U.S., and the New York Times gave the Weasku a shout-out in 2018 when it named the Rogue Valley one of the 52 best places to go that year. It’s a storied spot. Stay in the Weasku’s grand log cabin, and you’ll be sleeping in the same vacation digs favored by Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Walt Disney and Bing Crosby. Adirondack chairs beckon from the rolling lawn, a big back deck invites you to linger outdoors, and the great room – which is open to cabin guests, too, of course – has a big stone fireplace and plenty of cozy places to lounge.
‘ Pink Pink Rosé. There’s a tasting passport available, too, that gives you tastings for two at a dozen wineries.
