“Forever Valentino,” the most comprehensive exhibition to date paying homage to the maison’s founder Valentino Garavani and the house’s haute couture legacy, opened at M7, the design and innovation hub in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
Piccioli’s m.o. is a creative reflection of the unique spirit of Rome, where the spectacular mingles with the intimate, and the magnificent counterpoints the quotidian.
Some stunning examples of Valentino’s savoir faire are enshrined in the Wunderkammer room, but visitors will likewise delight in the glitter and glamour of the DI.VAS display, which pays homage to the relationship between Valentino and the worlds of cinema and music. Spectacular dresses worn by Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Zendaya are set against photos of the old-world celebrities who helped make Valentino legendary, and somehow synonymous with the dolce vita of the ’60s.
