Inside Prince Harry's solo trip to UK - family tensions, no Meghan and homeless
Prince Harry is heading home to the UK for a quick visit but he won't be meeting up with anyone from the royal family. The Duke of Sussex will be in London on September 7 for the WellChild Awards, but despite being in the country on the eve of the anniversary of the Queen's death, he has "no intention" of seeing his father or brother.
The Duchess of Sussex is set to join Harry in Germany for the second half of the Invictus Games. A spokesperson for the couple said that they were both "delighted to be attending" the games this year. In a statement released on Wednesday, Harry said: “For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the UK, providing critical care that prioritizes the physical, mental and emotional well-being of these individuals and their families.
The Telegraph is reporting that if Harry wants to stay on a royal estate, he’ll have to ask if he's allowed, but he could alternatively stay at a hotel or with friends. The duke lost a High Court bid to bring a second challenge against the Home Office in May over the issue. He argued that he should be allowed to pay for his own security out of his own pocket to ensure his own safety and that of his family when he is in the UK.
Harry claimed, among other things, that his brother attacked him while they argued at Frogmore Cottage and he claimed his dad put his own needs ahead of his son’s.
