It started as a few odd jobs around the house, then one thing led to another. Before long, Trent was knee-deep in a major renovation.
When Trent Manicas first moved into his Northcote home, he had no plans to make any changes or sell the property any time soon.
“We were like ‘Okay, we’ll just do small touch-ups here and there just to give it a clean-up, some paint, maybe re-stump the property’... We were already so heavily invested, having done only two or three small things,” Manicas said.Manicas started renovating when COVID hit, so the project ended up taking “a little longer” than expected, stretching almost two years.
He didn’t make many changes to the original layout of the house. Knocking out a wall that separated the kitchen from the living area was the most noticeable difference. Forget the previously tiny bathroom; the bungalow now boasts three bathrooms, including an ensuite and adjoining walk-in-robe on the upper level.
