Rami Iskander, 23, was shot dead and he is related to slain gangster Mahmoud "Brownie" Ahmad.Police are investigating if Iskander was killed for his potential involvement in the Zahed brothers' shooting at a gym the week before.
NSW Police said they warned the brothers less than a week earlier that their lives were in danger, but they chose not to take extra precautions. The day after he was killed, Homicide Squad Commander Danny Doherty confirmed Ahmad, 39, was a "marked man" and was aware of threats made on his life. Ahmad made headlines in 2016 after a shootout at Condell Park claimed the life of Safwan Charbaji - which a bloody gang war can be traced back to.He was released on parole about six months before his death.
