The probe was sparked after revelations were aired by 60 Minutes and Nine newspapers spotlighting allegations the union has been infiltrated by criminal figures.

An interim report into Victoria's embattled construction sector has found that workers are reluctant to report wrongdoing due to a fear of reprisal.

The report also found agencies already had the power to remove bikies from construction sites, but those powers have rarely to never been used.
