We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Interior Design Project Manager to join our growing team. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of our interior design and construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Interior Design Project Manager to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of construction and interior fitout projects for our firm. Your key responsibilities will include developing and managing project budgets, creating detailed schedules, and overseeing resource allocation to ensure optimal project execution.
You will conduct regular site inspections or delegate this task, review construction plans and specifications, identify potential risks, implement proactive measures to mitigate them, and verify that all work is performed to the highest quality standards.You will be responsible for managing all phases of interior design fitout and construction projects, encompassing project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout. This role aligns with SACAP's workstages 1-6. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will establish project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements. You will develop and manage project schedules, fee proposals, and resource allocations to guarantee cost efficiency and timely project delivery.Your responsibilities will involve liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards. You will also act as the primary point of contact for the client, elucidating their requirements and concerns, and effectively communicating these to the project team and designers, including assigning workflow and tasks. This role encompasses managing our in-house procurement manager to oversee procurement processes, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor selection. You will oversee project budgeting and cost control, managing change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Regular site inspections, or delegation of this task, will be conducted to assess project progress, identify risks, and guarantee alignment with the design intent.We undertake projects in South Africa, across the African continent, and internationally, so travel may be required from time to time. Maintaining effective communication with project team members and stakeholders is crucial to providing project updates, addressing concerns, and fostering strong working relationships. You will develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocations, and procurement strategies. Coordinate and oversee interior design activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications. Evaluate and select contractors and subcontractors based on qualifications, experience, and cost-effectiveness.Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders. Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges, and meet project objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including milestones, budget updates, and any significant developments or risks. Carry out thorough project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures. Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
