Telstra CEO Andy Penn says a team is working to resolve internet outages in Tasmania after there were cuts to two cables connecting to the state.
“They’re two separate cables which is problematic, we’ve got a third cable but what it means that all the extra load is going onto that third cable and that doesn’t have full capacity to cope … so that’s what’s causing some congestions and some issues and some outages in Tasmania at the moment,” he said.
“I know the team are working on it and looking to try and get the repair crews in place just as soon as they can.”
