Investigators have recovered the data as part of an ongoing probe into the incident, with efforts underway to determine if dirty fuel played a part in the ship's power loss.
Investigators have recovered data from the ship Dali that crashed into a bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday.
Rescue efforts were halted overnight due to poor conditions but Maryland State Police spokesperson Elena Russo confirmed recovery efforts were once again underway early Wednesday morning local time.Rescuers pulled two people out of the water on Tuesday. One person was treated at a hospital and discharged hours later.
"This is not going to be a simple thing. You've got the bridge, the wreckage of the bridge, we don't know about the conditions of the pier," he said. Synergy Marine Group, which manages the ship involved, said the impact happened while it was under the control of one or more pilots, who are local specialists who help guide vessels safely in and out of ports.
