Invincible season 2 is introducing one of the most dangerous villains from the comics, one that is an even bigger threat than the Viltrumites.
Invincible season 2 is introducing a new villain from the comics, and he will be even more dangerous than the Viltrumites. Season 1 of the Prime Video series already set up a lot for season 2, with Mark having to deal with the reveal that his father was evil as well as the impending Viltrumite invasion. However, the superpowered alien species may not be the biggest threat in Invincible season 2, as Mark will have to deal with an even more powerful villain.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The Invincible comics feature all kinds of side villains, with many issues introducing brand new one-off villains in order to round out the comic series' lengthy narrative. However, Amazon Prime's Invincible TV show changed this, cutting many side villains from season 1 and giving a greater focus to the main story.
Angstrom's interdimensional powers make him a pretty big threat to Mark, as there are a seemingly endless amount of variants of the villain. However, what's even worse is that he knows almost everything about Mark, allowing him to always be one step ahead. Angstrom Levy can even be seen stalking Mark in the Invincible season 2 teaser, showing that he is already planning to make Mark's life much tougher in the upcoming season.
Invincible's New Villain Will Make Season 2 Darker Than S1 Angstrom Levy's appearance in Invincible season 2 is already setting up that the show will be darker than season 1. Angstrom Levy considers Invincible to be his arch-nemesis, meaning that he will be directly targeting Invincible, whereas the Viltrumites are targeting Earth as a whole. Angstrom Levy's knowledge of Mark also raises the stakes, allowing the villain to target those close to Mark, including his mother and friends.
On top of the newly-introduced Angstrom Levy, Mark will still have to deal with the Viltrumite invasion. Rather than just facing off against one Omni-Man, Mark will have to fight a whole fleet of them, with Angstrom Levy only being the cherry on top of that cake of evil. Mark will undoubtedly have his hands full in Invincible season 2, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance even more so than in season 1.
