Phoenix played the title character, a middle-class kid trying to figure out what to do after high school. Perry portrayed his best friend, the upper-class Fred Roberts, and Skye was his snobby girlfriend, Denise Hunter., while Skye continued acting as well as painting and later authored several children's books. Perry was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday at the age of 54.
