Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed a deal to secure hostages held by Hamas in Gaza has been reached.

The Israel i government has signed a historic ceasefire deal with Hamas which will see hostages held captive in Gaza returned, hours after concerns emerged the agreement could be scuppered. The Israel i Prime Minister made the announcement after Israel i, US and Qatar negotiators met with Hamas representatives in Doha to sign the historic deal.

Two strategy experts have offered a unique insight into the complexity of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal set to come into force the day before Donald Trump’s inauguration. Picture: Alexi J. "I think we saw a vision of what Hamas has in mind for the area that they call Palestine, would be an area without Jews … their vision of a peaceful Middle East is one that requires a genocide to get there.”
