A small crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene, with a line of Hamas fighters keeping them at a distance from a temporary stage. Or Levy, Eli Sharabi and Ohad Ben Ami, all of whom were abducted and brought to Gaza on October 7, 2023 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the “shocking” images of the hostages’ poor condition. He said Israel would not ignore the sight of three weak, emaciated hostages being led on to a stage in Gaza and forced into an apparent staged interview by Hamas militants before their release. The ceasefire, which runs until early March, paused the 15-month war in the Gaza Strip where Israel’s retaliatory attack has killed more than 47,000 people, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
