The Israeli military says a series of targets were attacked both 'deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon', after a rocket strike on Golan Heights that Israel blames on Hezbollah.
It comes hours after a rocket attack on Israel i-occupied Golan Heights , which Israel claims was carried out by Hezbollah , killed 12 people. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the first strike and there are fears Israel 's retaliation could set the scene for a major escalation in violence.
The Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday local time that its aircraft carried out attacks targeting a number of locations in Lebanon overnight. Hezbollah has denied any responsibility for the strike, which is the deadliest in Israel or Israeli-annexed territory since the start of the conflict in Gaza.
