In 2021, Ocasio-Cortez voted"present" during the ballot to pass $1 billion in additional funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. Following her move to change her vote from"no" to"present," she apologized. “To those I have disappointed — I am deeply sorry," she said. The Iron Dome funding had passed the House overwhelmingly by a vote of 420 to nine.
Finally, in her statement following the Saturday terrorist attack, she once again referred to"ongoing oppression and occupation in the region" and called for"an immediate ceasefire and deescalation.”Starting in 2012, Omar was found to have written on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, a series of posts that were bashed as antisemitic and discriminatory.In 2018, she posted,"Drawing attention to the apartheid Israeli regime is far from hating Jews.
