The Israeli military initiated attacks on Beirut regions controlled by the Lebanese militia, followed by evacuation warnings. At least three people were killed and twenty-six injured. Hezbollah launched barrages of rockets and drones into northern Israel, seriously injuring civilians. Israel's security cabinet is set to vote on a ceasefire proposal.

The Israeli military initiated attacks on regions in Beirut controlled by the Lebanese militia early Tuesday morning, followed by twenty evacuation warnings issued subsequently. At least three individuals were killed and twenty-six injured in southern Beirut , according to the Lebanese health ministry, with the death toll expected to rise. A statement indicated that there were also army raids in the Litani River area, marking the furthest ground penetration into Lebanon to date.

Israel seems to be consolidating its military successes before a potential ceasefire, which may be implemented as early as Wednesday. Hezbollah launched barrages of rockets and drones into northern Israel on Tuesday, seriously injuring two civilians and one soldier. Israel has tightened restrictions, prohibiting large gatherings and closing schools in several areas in response to the increased violence. Israel’s security cabinet is scheduled to meet on Tuesday afternoon to vote on the proposed ceasefire, expected to pass despite opposition from far-right allies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Unconfirmed reports suggested that U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron would announce the ceasefire deal on either Tuesday night or Wednesday. Israel appears to have agreed to the ceasefire proposal after facing U.S. weapon shortages and warnings from the Biden administration. However, the country has emphasized its readiness to act forcefully against any Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire agreement
