'Surely the whole point of taking the CBT course is to get experience - not deliver someone's McDonald's!'
It's terrifying, exhilarating and liberating all at the same time and most motorists will no doubt have been itching to get behind the wheel as soon as the clock struck midnight the night before their 17th birthday. There are few moments in life of greater pride than being told you've passed your driving test.
According to a study that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted in the USA — albeit, in the 1980s — the median pre-accident speed of over 900 motorcycle accidents was just 29.8mph. This suggests that the typical motorcycle accident occurs when riders are driving at just 30mph. You do have to pass the full motorbike test within two years BUT, if you don't, you can simply re-take the CBT course which allows you to continue riding unsupervised for another two years.
Furthermore, surely the whole point of taking the CBT course, in the same way as applying for a provisional driving licence and learning to drive a car, is that you can then get the experience on the roads in order to take the full test. Not deliver someone's takeaway!
