Firefighters at a Florida fire station had to spring into action as a woman in labor drove herself to their front doors asking for help, fire rescue officials said on social media.
According to the post, the firefighters noticed the woman was in labor and about to give birth so they had to act quickly in order to deliver the baby.
“I knew there were only a couple minutes left before James was going to make his arrival. I kept telling them, the baby is coming, the baby is coming… I need to push; I need to push,” said Jackie Cerna.Sign up for NBC Bay Area’s Housing Deconstructed newsletter. “My mom and my husband were freaking out and said we should start going you know the Miami traffic… I start getting ready, I go to the bathroom and my water breaks,” said added.
“I had to do something instead of getting into the middle of traffic at 5 o clock in the afternoon,” said Jose Cerna, the father of the baby. Cerna told NBC 6 exclusively that she knew she only had a few minutes to get help. Her husband Jose said they did not have time to get to their birthing center and pulled into the fire station.
