stars as Howard Ratner, a New York City jeweler always on the lookout for the next big score. After he makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime, Howard is forced to perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family and encroaching adversaries on all sides in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win.
Part of what Sandler is playing so well here is Howard’s mystery—it’s not quite clear if he has some grand master plan he’s keeping close to his chest, or if he’s just flying by the seat of his pants.
