‘It’s alright, I’m in charge’: F1 icon’s hilarious response amid awkward Monaco exchange with Mbappe

Formula One icon Martin Brundle had yet another awkward interaction with a celebrity on the grid walk , with football superstar Kylian Mbappe the latest casualty.

As Mbappe made his way through the grid at Monaco, Brundle posted himself in perfect position to try and grab a word with the World Cup winner.Just as Brundle went in to interview Mbappe he was brushed back by a security guard, prompting a hilarious response from the man with the microphone.

Mbappe chuckled before responding: “No, no, I’m not faster than the cars. I just want to be here like a fan and enjoy the moment.”Mbappe also had the honour of waving the chequered flag as Charles Leclerc crossed the line in first place, breaking his luckless streak of no podium finishes in five attempts at his home town race.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a day out in Monte Carlo barely 24 hours after his club PSG beat Lyon 2-1 to claim the French Cup. It was Mbappe’s final game in PSG colours having indicated he would leave the club at the end of the season and appears set to move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in a matter of days.
