Sky News host Chris Smith says the Victorian government allowing people to go to the bottle shop, visit a brothel, do what they need to do at the newly established drug injecting rooms, but not allow elective surgery - is just "whacky". The remarks come amid Victoria's Deputy Chief Health Officer Professor Allen Cheng, giving an update on restrictions, said elective surgery was not COVID safe.
"That has got to be the worst attempt at explaining the health advice, we have heard for a year. I don't even think Dr Cheng is convinced elective surgery should be banned at the moment - of course it shouldn't," Mr Smith said. "And it gets worse, it's do as I say, not as I do in Victoria. The latest is, that many politicians are ditching wearing their masks, both inside and outside Parliament House - they've been sprung," Mr Smith said.
