Cameron Murray was keen to set the record straight about claims of Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker receiving preferential treatment.
Murray is also backing his leadership qualities to help get the historic club’s finals hopes back on track after a dramatic week.
By Wednesday morning, Burgess, a Rabbitohs legend and assistant coach, had parted ways with the club. Souths were quick to deny Burgess had leaked any information to the media, saying he would use the time to prepare for the arrival of his newborn child and get a head start on his new head coaching job with Super League club Warrington.
“Who wouldn’t do that? Both Latrell and Cody have been unfairly judged in the media, and it’s not the first time it has happened, particularly with Latrell. I will always back my teammates.”, took to social media on Thursday to post: “Sometimes we fight, sometimes we argue, but there ain’t no negotiation on how much I love this club and my teammates.”
