Paul, a survivor of child sexual abuse, decided to share his story in the media. He says it has been a difficult process, but an overwhelmingly positive one.
Now aged in her 60s, Wilma said it was an important that society faced up to the problem of child sexual abuse.
Sexual Assault Support Service chief executive Jill Maxwell says it can be empowering for victim-survivors to share their stories. Ms Maxwell said while it is a "positive move that institutions and governments are addressing these issues in the hope that history is not repeated … we must not forget rape and sexual assault is personal".
