MotoGP: Aussie Jack Miller has thankfully walked away without serious injury after a scary crash in the opening lap of the Malaysian GP
MotoGP world champion s Fabio Quartararo and Joan Mir both expressed their relief that Jack Miller was left with no more than bumps and bruises after his frightening first-lap crash in Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix, where the Australian rider’s head hit the rear of Quartararo’s bike before Mir ran over Miller’s legs.
Quartararo and Binder were also thrown from their bikes in the sickening impact, which saw the race halted and trackside medics attend to a prone Miller in the middle of the track before he was transported to the circuit’s medical centre in an ambulance. “I don’t know what happened and I haven’t looked at the pictures it seems to me that someone hit me on the inside and then I felt like a blocking , and it was Miller’s head,” Quartararo, the 2021 MotoGP world champion, said after the race.
“We were all on the ground, but I don’t think it was a mistake. On a slow corner and change of direction, it’s really easy to touch. Those things can happen.”Mir – who later crashed out of the restarted race – admitted he could do nothing to avoid Miller after making a strong getaway from 20th on the grid.“I made a super-good start, I was around the top 10, so if I could make the corner I could be in a very good position. But then I find the crash with Fabio and Miller, and I ran over Miller.
