The 1% Club viewers were left in tears after learning that one of the contestants, Steven Wong, had died shortly after filming the ITV game show, which is hosted by Lee Mack
The 1% Club left its viewers heartbroken after a contestant, Steven Wong, passed away shortly following his appearance on the popular ITV game show. Steven was tragically unable to witness his appearance on the Saturday evening staple, hosted by brilliant comedian Lee Mack.
In a light-hearted conversation with Lee, Steven disclosed that he had been second-in-line to act in the world-renowned Harrison Ford hit, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, back in 1981. As he narrated, he admitted learning that he and another child actor had been the casting team's top choices for the film, recalling his unawareness at that time when he was only around the age of 10.
Lee showed support to their fellow participant saying, "Wow! And you got down to the final two! ", regarding his brief brush of tinsel town prominence, before gently teasing him, "You say you don't like to talk about it, you brought it up on national television." However, it was Steve's unfortunate fate that had viewers in tears. The end credits of the 1% Club revealed that Steve had tragically passed away shortly after filming and prior to the episode being aired.
